Thank you for your interest in becoming an official with FVOA. We're glad you have taken the first step.
It's no secret, as the years go by, there is a significant need for sports officials at all levels throughout the United States. With this demand, it creates an opportunity for you to join a nationally recognized, prestigious, and well-respected volleyball officials association.
It only takes a couple of steps to start your journey to become a referee and working middle and high school games in Virginia:
Step 1: Click the "Contact FVOA Commissioner" link to initiate an email of interest.
Step 2: Information on upcoming required training will be provided after Step 1 is completed.
Step 3: Virginia High School League (VHSL) annual official's test will be sent out from the commissioner
once it is released.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:

Be at least 18 years of age (minimum)

Submit a membership application

Attend required training hours (classroom, online)

Pass an on-court practicum

Pay dues
It is recommended that you have availability Monday - Friday; 1500-2100, August through November; annually.
